Silat is a traditional martial art and competitive sport popular in both Malaysia and Indonesia. It combines self-defense techniques, artistic movements, and physical training.

While people involved in silat are usually known for being tough, we can’t help but notice how adorable it is to see kids participating in silat competitions. In a recent video shared by @itstamim_63, he gives a glimpse into a silat championship held in Kediri, Indonesia.

“It’s normal to cry”

Naufal continued to explain how he was casually recording one of the matches when suddenly, to his and everyone’s surprise, an opponent decided to kick the other opponent, causing her to lose balance and fall instantly.

“They’re very cute and adorable, and since they’re still children gaining experience, it’s normal for them to cry sometimes, especially after getting kicked like that! They’re probably about 8 to 10 years old”

Upon the girl falling to the ground, he mentioned how she cried, and many spectators found it amusing, laughing as they found the situation adorable.

It’s all part of the learning experience!

As soon as the girl started crying, Naufal revealed how she ran towards one of the coaches who was there. The coach immediately started comforting her and carried her away.

Naufal noted that fortunately, the girl was fine and uninjured, mentioning that such moments are normal and all part of the learning experience.

“We weren’t laughing to be insensitive. Of course, we feel bad for the little girl. We just found the situation adorable. It’s moments like these that make my job as a coach so memorable because you’d be surprised how much you can learn from it.”
