The referee then raised the hand of the contestant in red to signal that he was the winner but as he did so, the blue contestant started celebrating by screaming with joy.

As he was celebrating, both the referee and the other contestant looked at him as if perplexed at his joy of losing the match.

In the video’s comments section, many Malaysians were amused and confused at the man’s joyous reaction to losing the match.

One commenter joked that the man was happy that his participation in the Silat tournament was over as he could now focus on his job.

Meanwhile, a few commenters pointed out that the man may have thought he won the match because the referee raised the man’s arm slightly when the result was announced.

This is definitely plausible as a closer look at the video showed that the man’s arm was slightly raised when the result was announced. However, if this was the case, the man did jump the gun and went on to celebrate before confirming he result.
