Catching any type of fish isn’t exactly a cakewalk. Every angler has had those days when it feels like the fish just aren’t biting. Fortunately, a local has discovered a more “efficient” method.
User @malissaezren shared a moment on her TikTok where her husband got creative with his fishing methods, as they are fishermen and sell fish for a living in Pangkor.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Malissa revealed that she and her husband had been using traditional methods to catch yat yat but noticed that it’s very time-consuming.
She went on to explain how they decided to try an alternative method by using a fan guard cover to catch the critters.
“We used to catch fish only with our hands, occasionally even using our legs. However, we came to realize that this method was inefficient and extremely time-consuming. Fish, in general, are swift creatures, making it easy for them to evade capture, even if we manage to get hold of them.”
Not only does the fan cover work, but they also managed to catch 2 big bottles filled with yat-yat
Malissa couldn’t believe how well the fan cover worked. They were surprised when they managed to catch 2 big bottles full of yat-yat.
“Where we’re from, we call these critters yat-yat. They’re not exactly fish, more like little beetles. But they taste just like baby crab and they’re super crunchy.”
Netizens began flooding the comment section out of curiosity about the yat-yat critter.
