Despite making significantly lesser appearances on screen, legendary Hong Kong comedian and filmmaker Stephen Chow’s presence is still hugely felt by his fans. His previous works in the entertainment industry continue to amaze generations of audiences.

Since the early 2010s, Stephen has been mostly active in producing and directing his own movies. While he still “owes” fans around the world Kung Fu Hustle 2, Stephen announced another movie in the making yesterday via his Instagram post.

Fans will surely remember one of his previous movies – Shaolin Soccer which was released back in 2001. Stephen shared a teaser clip of the first draft of the script for a female-led Shaolin Soccer, titled Shaolin Women’s Soccer. As of now, it is unclear if the female-led movie will be a direct sequel to the 2001 movie as it is still in the pre-production stage. The draft might have been completed recently as the date (22 June) was printed on the front page.

However, Stephen has something else in mind at the time being. He’s hunting for female talents and if you think you’re young and pretty, then you might be the one that he’s looking for. Stephen had his own way when it comes to recruiting new talents, saying,

“I’ve only 1 wish today. It’s to spend a good time with pretty women, preferably young, smart and of course, athletic.”

And no, he’s not only targeting females from Hong Kong only. “All countries are welcome! The more the merrier!” He also jokingly said that he’s not afraid of a large group of women, but how you look is his concern.

In his post, Stephen also reminded the interested applicants NOT to submit photoshopped images of themselves, which will seal their fates and send them home.

“Can I be the football?”

His post took social media by storm and netizens all around the world, including celebrities and influencers made themselves visible by volunteering to be part of Shaolin Women’s Soccer.

Hong Kong actress Myolie Wu asked if Stephen accepts an actress who has given birth to 3 children.

“I’m a guy, can I join? I’m spiritually a woman.”

Japanese adult star, Mao Hamasaki also commented and said she’s ready if Stephen accepts her.

Malaysian actress, Emily Chan expressed her excitement and said, “Years of practice for this. Big brother, I’m coming!”

Malaysian ladies, feeling confident enough to be part of the cast of Shaolin Women’s Soccer? It’s not every day that you get to mingle around and work with Stephen Chow. E-mail him your resume if you’re interested!
