Emperor Cinemas in Johor Bahru’s R&F Mall will officially cease operations on 1 July 2023.

According to the cinema’s latest statement, it will officially close down on 1 July 2023 (Saturday) upon expiry of the tenancy. “Our cinema will remain fully operational until our last day of business, which will be on 30 June 2023 (Friday),” it said.

Emperor Cinemas Malaysia also took the opportunity to thank all movie-goers who have supported it in R&F Mall since its opening. You can refer to the latest arrangement of movie vouchers, coupons and VIP member token redemption here on its official website.

After the statement was released, many Malaysians expressed their sadness in the comment section, as the cinema is one of their favourites. Most of them like the good location and good service, saying that they will miss the cinema a lot.

Emperor Cinemas in R&F Mall is its first branch in Southeast Asia. It is apparently one of the leading cinema groups in Hong Kong.
