Before you land yourself a job and sign the offer letter, you deserve to know what you sign up for and how much you’ll be paid for your time and work there. So it makes sense for you to ask any questions you possibly have in mind during the interview.

Just recently, a girl in Taiwan shared her job-seeking experience which did not end well. In the Facebook group ●【爆怨公社】●, the girl summarised her job-hunting experience as “uneasy” because luck did not seem to be on her side. Nothing turned out well for the poor lady.

“The employers either told me the position has been filled or they’re not hiring anyone at the moment.”

However, there was 1 specific experience with a recruiter that will probably leave her wondering if she had asked the wrong question. In a screenshot of a conversation with the recruiter, the girl politely enquired about the payment for overtime work.

“How long is the OT for Saturday? How do I calculate the payment for OT?”

As an employee, the girl was merely practicing her right to ask about her wage but the recruiter was apparently not happy about the question. He immediately jumped to conclusions and told the girl that she was not the right fit for the job.

“It’s alright then. Perhaps you’re not meant for this job. Please look for something that fits you, and you don’t have to come on Monday. Thank you.”

In the post, the girl said that the recruiter should’ve informed her earlier if he didn’t see her as the right person for the job.

“I’m so tired of this. I feel so horrible,” the girl expressed.

“He can’t even disclose the OT pay!”

Netizens, however, agreed that it was a blessing in disguise as the response itself was a red flag.

“He didn’t even want to disclose the salary. Avoid this company at all costs.”

“This place treats its employees as slaves, next please!”

“You’re not unlucky, you’re blessed. You’re only unlucky if you really work for them. They can’t even tell you more about OT, do you really think this is a good working place?”

“Mr know-it-all who thinks we’re lazy when we’re just asking questions. Those who are lazy won’t even ask these. We work because we want to earn money. If we don’t ask about salary, what do we ask then? Our fate?”

We do hope that the girl can find herself at least a decent job soon! What will you do if your future recruiter has such a response?
