Generally, Balinese people are perceived to be tolerant toward outsiders – both Indonesians and foreigners.

That being said, the antics that some foreigners got up to are too outrageous even for the islanders, such as the case shown in this video that took place between this foreigner and a delegation of the Melasti procession that took place in Kuta Selatan, Bali.

In the video, the man, riding a black motorcycle was seen attacking a group of men in white, after they asked the rider to delay his journey to allow the festival to go through.

The man was seen held back by his partner and a group of men, which ultimately stopped further violence from happening.

In another thread, one netizen shared what took place before things got heated. This netizen wrote: “It was the girlfriend who started it. She was pointing her finger to the village folk and was rude.”

“Pointing your finger to another person is very rude, culturally, and she was in the village folk’s face, invading his personal space in the process.”

“This is an example of a modern day colonization. You come to another country and expect everyone to bend to your culture and needs.”

“White entitlement and white supremacy at its finest here.”

According to Balinese local @d3vilicious, the rider, identified as Dani Gusev, is an illegal immigrant living and earning in Bali, working as a commercial and travel photography.

This issue not only angered the Balinese but also Malaysians, who were less than pleased witnessing what took place.
