Waze is a great GPS application and many of us use it daily. Sometimes, we may come across a certain blue sign and the voice will say, “police reported ahead.”

Well, the Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Azmi Abu Kassim has advised the public to not share any information regarding police presence and roadblocks on the Waze navigation application.

According to BERNAMA, Datuk Azmi further elaborates that doing so will “hamper enforcement efforts against motorists driving under the influence of alcohol and those who commit other traffic offences.”

Other than that, he adds that road users should be aware of the dangers negligent drivers pose to them such as drunk drivers, red light beaters and those who drive against the flow of traffic.

He further urged Malaysians to not share information on the police on Waze by saying:

“Those who have never been affected by the misfortune caused by the carelessness and negligence of traffic offenders, will not be able to feel the pain and suffering victims’ families have to endure.”

“And that is why it is my hope that the public, especially road users, will cooperate with the police instead of trying to help those who commit road offences,” he added.

Now that the KL police chief has said it, you know what to do!
