Recently, there have been many videos showing the activities of patients at the MAEPS quarantine centre which are going viral. Patients have been pictured trying Zumba, doing fashion shows, and more! But it looks like there are still limits to the kind of fun you can have during quarantine.

In the latest turn of events, the police have opened an internal investigation regarding the actions of a group of Covid-19 patients believed to be gambling at the Quarantine Centre and Covid-19 Risk Treatment at MAEPS Serdang.

According to the Sepang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof a report was made by a policeman at the Dato Abu Bakar Baginda Police Station.

He said the inquiry paper had been opened for further investigation as well as to strengthen the examination of patients at MAEPS.

“We’re still awaiting instructions from Bukit Aman to classify cases under their appropriate sections”, as reported by Sinar Harian.

Earlier, several video recordings on social media showed the activities of Covid-19 patients gathering to play cards, which have invited the criticism of netizens.

Based on the video recordings, no money was placed for bets, but it looks like food packages such as biscuits and noodles were used as betting items.
