The love a child has for their mother knows no bounds, not even to the point of death.

A heroic nine-year-old boy was murdered while he was trying to protect his mother from getting raped.

As according to Kompas, the suspect named Samsul invaded their home in Langsa, Aceh, at night on 10 October and tried to rape the boy’s 28-year-old mother, while he was asleep in another room.

The boy’s father had left to go fishing as the family stayed on a farm, hence, there were no nearby neighbours to hear the commotion caused by the break in.

Samsul had then tried to rape the boy’s mother while threatening her with a machete that he used to cut her hand while she was resisting him.

The brave boy was awakened by the fight and rushed to his mother’s aid, only to be killed by the rapist. Samsul immediately fled the scene, taking the boy’s body with him. He was later arrested after the Indonesian authorities found him hiding near a football field where they had to shoot three rounds into his leg to arrest him.

He kept quiet about where he hid the boy’s body but the officers managed to find the body located by a river nearby.

“The boy’s body was full of cuts, starting from the hands, to his shoulders, neck, jaw, chest, fingers and more. It was so heartbreaking,” said the head of the local police, Alief Sukmono.

Upon investigation, it turns out that the rapist was recently released from prison in Indonesia over concerns of Covid-19 clusters in the penitentiary he was placed in for previous crimes. He will now be serving 18 years in prison for his new ones.

We’re so heartbroken for the boy and his family. Rest in peace, brave boy, your mother is safe thanks to you.
