A 7-year-old boy from Indonesia tragically passed away on December 28 after being abused by his parents at their rented home in Kelurahan Kiduldalem.

The abuse started because the victim kept asking for RM0.90

Sinar Harian reported that Pasuruan Police Criminal Investigation Unit Chief AKP Achmad Doni Meidianto shared that the suspects, the victim’s biological mom and stepdad, had repeatedly abused the child.

Achmad Doni also mentioned that during the investigation, the suspects admitted their motive for the murder was the victim’s habit of frequently asking for money.

“The abuse started when the child was only 6 years old, just because the child would often ask for small amounts of money, around 3,000 to 5,000 Rupiah (about RM0.90 to RM1.50),” he said.

Cigarette butts were shoved into the victim’s mouth

Achmad Doni mentioned that the victim had complained of chest pain on December 27 (Friday), which led Syahrul to give the child a drink mixed with eucalyptus oil, causing severe coughing and bleeding.

“They would hit, scratch, and even shove cigarette butts into the victim’s mouth and body. The victim was first treated at the Bangil health center before being sent to the Bangil General Hospital. Sadly, the victim passed away last Saturday.”

A post-mortem showed that the victim died from internal bleeding in the right kidney, caused by being hit with a blunt object. Multiple injuries were found on the victim’s body.

Both suspects now face up to 15 years in prison.
