How could someone do such a thing to a minor?
According to SCMP, a 71-year-old man recently got arrested after molesting and having sex with his 15-year-old student.

The tutor from Hong Kong admitted that he had indecently touched his student on two occasions and had sex with her in his apartment during their tuition classes. The two of them were at a community centre in 2016 when the teacher, Lam, offered to give her free private tutoring classes. The victim agreed and started addressing him as her “godfather”.
The first assault happened in February 2018 when Lam offered to give the girl a massage. He said that the massage was solely to alleviate her stress and to ease her worries from studying too much. However, during the massage, he started touching the victim’s breasts and private parts. She initially told him to stop but later consented as Lam convinced her that he could fix her uneven breasts. He also told her that he could increase her vagina’s elasticity which would improve her sex life with her future husband.

As weeks passed by, Lam became more daring and started asking her to lie down on his bed during their massage sessions. One day, while molesting her, Lam asked the girl if they could have sex. He persistently asked her for three times, claiming that he had not had sex for a very long time and had difficulties maintaining an erection. She eventually agreed out of annoyance.

The following day, Lam ordered the victim to keep quiet about the incident and asked her to delete all the messages regarding their relationship. She started getting scared and eventually told her mother about everything that had happened. The case was then reported after the mother informed the school about the incident.
Lam was arrested by the police and pleaded guilty in court to two counts of indecent assault and one count of statutory rape. He admitted that what he did was wrong but said that he had only done so because she gave her consent.
According to Age of Consent, minors below the age of 16 are not legally able to consent to sexual activity. Having sex with anyone under the age of 16 may result in prosecution for statutory rape or the equivalent local law.
