@sallyjahari_ii recently shared a heartbreaking story on Instagram about meeting a young boy selling snacks along the walkway of a shop lot area in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Sally revealed that she personally spoke to the boy out of concern, wondering why he was left alone to sell snacks under the scorching heat.
The boy was left alone while his parents ate at a nearby eatery
In the post, Sally detailed how she approached the young boy, concerned about whether he was alone or with his parents, especially considering how young he appeared.
When she asked, the 5-year-old boy said he had come with his mom, which made Sally even more concerned. She looked around but didn’t see anyone who could be his mom, so she felt compelled to ask the boy where his mom was.
The boy then responded by saying,
“My mom and dad are eating at a nearby restaurant.”
His mom didn’t allow him to join them to eat
As the story continues, Sally asks the boy why he hadn’t gone to eat with his parents and why he was left alone. The boy then explained that his mom allegedly had told him to stay put and that he wasn’t allowed to join them.
“I asked him if he had eaten, and he said he had a meal at home before they left.”
In the post, Sally also mentioned that while she was at a nearby restaurant, she noticed only 1 table with a couple dining, while the other tables were occupied by people in formal work attire. She believes the couple was the parents of the boy.
“I asked the boy how he got to the area, and he said they came by car with his parents. I decided to give him some water and biscuits, and he finished everything, which showed just how thirsty he was, especially with how hot it was that day.”
A report has been made
Sally told WORLD OF BUZZ that after she posted about the incident on her Instagram, a concerned netizen reached out to share some information about the boy.
This new information prompted Sally to file a report with the Department of Social Welfare, hoping that they could intervene and help the boy.
As she awaits an update, she hopes that in the meantime, everyone will keep an eye out for the boy if they happen to come across him.
