Two siblings were found dead in each other’s arms at a farm in Indonesia, around 10:30 PM on May 14 (Wednesday).

According to Detik Kalimantan, one of them had a severed hand, while both had serious head injuries and bodies covered in wounds, believed to be from abuse.

They had gone out to search for durians

The 8-year-old and 4-year-old were found at a hilly farm in Dusun Teba Langgar, Pesisir Utara, Pesisir Barat, Lampung.

It was reported that before the tragic incident, the two children had asked their parents for permission to go look for durians at a nearby farm. However, they never returned home.

“They told their parents they were going to look for durians. When they didn’t return by evening, the villagers helped launch a search,” said Pesisir Barat Police Chief AKBP Bestiana.

Both of them had deep slash wounds to the head

After hours of searching, the heartbreaking discovery was made when both children were found dead, hugging each other near a ravine at the edge of the farm.

“Around 10:30pm that same day, they were found lifeless in a sloped area of the farm,” said Bestiana.

Initial investigations revealed that one of the child’s hands had been completely severed, and both had deep slash wounds to the head, believed to be caused by a sharp weapon.

“The injuries clearly point to a sharp weapon. One of the victim’s severed hand was even found at the scene,” said Lampung Police Criminal Investigation Chief, Senior Commissioner Pahala Simanjuntak.
