A 46-year-old Malaysian man, Goh Sek Loong, was charged with raping an underage girl at a homestay in Batu Pahat, Johor, on July 26 this year.

Earlier, he was suspected of abducting a 15-year-old girl, who was also his girlfriend from Kepong to Johor, before the girl was found safe by PDRM officers in Johor. The police later arrested the man. Yesterday (August 4), he pleaded guilty to one charge of rape at the Muar Sessions Court.

Goh was sentenced to 5 years in jail, with one stroke of cane.

The charge sheet had to be read in Mandarin, as Goh couldn’t understand the content in Bahasa Melayu, and refused to plead guilty until he could comprehend the charge.

Goh, while crying and apologising to the court, also pleaded for leniency, citing his hypertension, heart disease, and financial situation as major issues, and promised the court that he would not commit the crime again.

Deputy Public Prosecutor, however, said that the Court should impose a heavy punishment on the defendant, Goh, for sexually assaulting a minor, which left the victim traumatised. The medical personnel who treated the underage victim also found laceration wounds on her private parts.

Goh, who saw the victim cutting her wrist at the homestay in Batu Pahat, comforted her, and when her emotions had stabilised, he took the opportunity to ask for sex. The victim was then sexually assaulted until she felt pain in her private parts, reported Sin Chew and Harian Metro.

In a quick recap, the police investigation found out that Goh and the 15-year-old girl had been dating for the past three months after they met on social media. She went missing on July 23 after her grandfather dropped her off at school, where she boarded Goh’s car and went to Johor.
