19yo College Student Dies After Skidding Off Motorcycle and Falling from DASH Elevated Expressway

A 19-year-old male college student was killed after his motorcycle skidded, causing him to fall from a flyover on the Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH) from a height of 21 metres at Exit 1/B 0.5, near here, yesterday morning.

According to Harian Metro, Shah Alam District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the incident occurred around 10:40 am. The teen died from severe head injuries after falling onto a grassy area at Persiaran Pulau Angsa.

“Investigations found that the incident happened when the victim, who was riding a Yamaha 135LC motorcycle from Persiaran Mokhtar Dahari via the DASH Exit 1/B 0.5, is believed to have lost control while navigating a bend. The motorcycle then skidded and collided with the highway divider,” he said.

“The impact of the crash caused the rider to fall off the overpass from a height of approximately 21 metres onto the grassy area at Persiaran Pulau Angsa. As a result of the accident, the victim sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene,” he added.
