A 16-year-old Malaysian student in Seremban was charged with raping his 14-year-0ld female friend in a classroom at a school in Ampangan, Negeri Sembilan.
The boy, however, pleaded not guilty at the Seremban Magistrate’s Court after the charge was read to him today (August 29).

The proceeding was conducted privately as the accused is still underage. According to the charge sheet, the boy was accused of raping the 14-year-old girl inside a classroom on May 2 this year at 7:20 AM. It is a punishable offence under Section 376 (1) of the Penal Code for rape.
If found guilty, the accused will face a jail term of not less than 5 years but not more than 20 years, including whipping.

Deputy Public Prosecutor, P Rubini, offered bail of RM7,000 with one surety and additional conditions. The accused was not represented by lawyers, but he will be bailed by his father, who is a retired military personnel.
The father also asked for a lower bail, which the court later set at RM4,000.
