Most of us have been told by our parents once upon a time to never talk to strangers and it is one of the most common things we have learnt when were younger as the world can be a scary place. It has been drilled in our minds to always be wary of the people we meet, but not for this 13-year-old girl, unfortunately.
After less than three days of talking to a guy via Whatsapp, she daringly left her home to meet him in a rented room without telling her parents. The guy she was conversing with through text messages was a guy that her friend introduced her to.
According to Harian Metro, the 13-year-old girl told her mother that she was going to go out for a short while and did not mention that she was going over to meet the guy.
Police then raided the place at 12.30 midnight and arrested the girl along with six other individuals, including two teenage girls, aged 15 and 18 years old, and four boys, aged 14 and 21 years old.
The small room that she went to is believed to be rented for RM50 per night by one of the men from the group.
The police also investigated the two other rooms next door and found another two couples there as well.
During the raid, Kota Setar’s District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Nor Azman Mohd Nor said a total of eleven individuals have also been arrested for breaking the CMCO rules. These individuals were not practising social distancing as they were all very close together in these small rooms.
He said seven of them were in one room while another two couples were in the other two rooms.
He added on that seven of them tested positive for drugs, including the three teenage girls aged 15, 17 and 18 years old.
“The results of the urine screening test confirmed that they were positive for consuming ketamine and methamphetamine,” he said.
Those who have been tested positive for drugs will be investigated in accordance with Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. As for the other two couples, they are being investigated for breaking the CMCO rules and will be handed over to JAIK enforcement officers.
