In an official statement by PDRM in Setiu, Terengganu, the police revealed that a 12-year-old girl had gone missing on Saturday (August 9) after she left the house without her parents’ knowledge.

The girl’s father, Mohd Ridzuan Mat Yasim, 36, found out about her disappearance at around 5 PM on Saturday, before he lodged a police report the next day. The missing girl, Adriana Batrisya, has no friends as she dropped out of school two years ago when she was in Standard Four.

Setiu District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Zain Mat Dris, said that based on the information received, Adriana dropped out of school due to health concerns. The closest people to her were her parents and an 8-year-old sibling.

In an early investigation, the police found out that Adriana met a man through TikTok, who was not among the local residents.

“The case is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Setiu District Police Headquarters since the victim is under the age of 18,” Zain said.

Adriana was living with her family members at the Sungai Tong Low-Cost Housing Estate, reported Sinar Harian.

In his statement, Mohd Zain also urged the public to come forward and assist with the investigation should they have any information about the missing person.
