A dead body was found floating on the Klang River, and it was confirmed to be the late Malaysian singer, Nidza Afham, who was reported missing since Tuesday night (August 13), as confirmed by PDRM.

In an official statement by the Chief Police of Selangor, Dato Hussein Bin Omar Khan said Nidza’s body was found last night around 7:30 PM (August 14). The body was then sent to Shah Alam Hospital for post-mortem.

What happened to Nidza, and where was he last seen?

On her Instagram post @aufahaniee, Nidza’s sister, Aufahanie sought help from the public to look for her brother, who took an e-hailing ride to Stadium Sultan Sulaiman in Klang to go jogging. Aufa also shared a brief but detailed chronology of her brother’s disappearance, and here’s the breakdown.

Nidza, who was only 23 boarded his e-hailing ride at 7:54 PM and reached Stadium Sultan Sulaiman 23 minutes later.

Aufa said that Nidza last texted his girlfriend at 9:04 PM. After more than 2 hours without response, his girlfriend, as well as Aufa tried calling him at 11:53 PM but to no avail.

Based on Nidza’s traced location, he was shown to be around the Klang Bridge area at the time, also known as the Kota Bridge.

At nearly 2 AM, Aufa and her family went to the bridge to look for Nidza, where they found his wallet and phone.

“His cash and debit card were gone. 2 men in the area also helped us in finding Nidza. The perpetrator left Nidza’s phone and wallet on the bridge in an arranged manner. A police report has been lodged.”

Aufa also went through her brother’s phone and found nothing suspicious.

“We didn’t find any elements of debts and fight. He finished his running too.”

The efforts in locating Nidza stopped when police broke the bad news to Aufa’s family. Stadium Sultan Sulaiman is only 2.3 KM away from the Kota Bridge.

Robbery?

At the time of writing, PDRM has yet to reveal more details about the case. However, preliminary investigation shows robbery as the primary motive due to the absence of Nidza’s cash and debit card.

His identification card and student card remained in the wallet.

Our thoughts and prayers go to the family members of Nidza and hopefully, the truth will be revealed soon.
