Oh no, the poor baby! A baby girl who was just over a month old in Kampung Darussalam, Bogor, Indonesia recently suffered from serious wounds on her face after a rat bit her while she was sleeping. The baby, known as Aqilah Putri Rahmat, had deep wounds all over her brows, nose and cheeks as a result of the rat attack.

According to Tribun, the incident happened on Wednesday (November 20th) at night around 8pm. The mother of the victim, Lisdawati, said that her baby was in a deep sleep on the bed while it was raining. She had gone to the bathroom but had hastily returned when she heard her baby crying.

To her shock, she saw a huge rat on the bed and it was attacking her helpless baby. It was biting her daughter furiously on her face which caused her to bleed profusely. Her husband was not at home as he was working, so she had to save her daughter.

Her daughter’s injuries were so severe that she had to be rushed to the hospital for treatment. The doctor said that there were many bite wounds, and he had to administer four stitches on the baby along with tetanus shots. Although the wounds were not life-threatening, the doctor said the wounds were quite deep so he was worried that they might leave scars.

Currently, the baby is under medication to prevent infection. She is afraid that a similar situation could occur again as there were always rats around her house. “Yes, there have always been rats here but I can’t believe that the rats would climb up on the bed and bite my baby. This is the first time I have seen this happening,” she said.

Hopefully, the baby can make a full recovery from her injuries!
