This may be the 834695th time you’re hearing this but the Covid-19 pandemic threat is far from over, in fact, we’re currently facing the third wave. With fluctuating cases every day, it’s safe to say the whole country is in a state of worry.

However, it’s disappointing to see how some Malaysians still don’t seem to take this seriously. In his daily press conference, Defence Minister, informs of Malaysians who are still getting compounded as they were not wearing any masks. One person who shares this belief on not having to wear a mask is this Twitter user who shared his controversial opinion online.

Masks1

“Why are you wearing masks if your immune system created by Allah is still good? Allah is all-powerful and if you’re wearing a mask, your immune system will be disrupted.

Use your brains to think and use your eyes to see the greatness of Allah.”

To no one’s surprise, his comment garnered a lot of hate from netizens who called out his flawed logic and spreading false information.

Mask2

“Brother, wearing masks is to just prevent the virus from transmitting. Since when wearing your mask disrupts your immune system. It’s enough that you’re misinformed, stop influencing others as well.”

Why do some people NOT wear their masks?

The anti-mask trend began in the United States of America when President Donald Trump himself and several of his cabinet members refused to wear a mask dismissing the virus threats. Health reported that denial that the virus is actually a much bigger deal than what is let on could also contribute to some people refusing to don their masks.

However, there are people who are simply selfish for not wearing their masks and feel like the law is above them.

Please, please, please always wear your mask and maintain social distancing if you have to leave the house. We flattened the curve once and we CAN do it again!
