One of the last things that we like to do before we go to sleep is using our mobile phones. Well, not only is this not a relaxing thing to do before you sleep, but it is actually very bad for your body, especially if you lie on your side.

This 16-year-old girl from Kaohsiung, Taiwan experienced severe back pain which prompted her mother to bring her to the doctor. After consulting with an orthopedic surgeon, an X-ray of her back was taken and the result shocked the girl and her mother, TVBS reported.
Apparently, the left side of her spine had a serious curvature of 50 degrees. The doctor deduced that the severe curvature was due to the girl’s habit of always lying on her right side on the bed and playing with her phone. He said that this had put more pressure on her right side, especially on her thoracic vertebrae and lumbar vertebrae.

He explained that the girl rarely exercised as well so her core muscles were not strong enough to support her body in that position for long. Of course, this was not the only posture problems that the doctor had encountered as he said that there was a case of his patient suffering from a 38 degree spine curvature.
This case happened because his patients would often look down a lot on their mobile phones and he advised other people to always ensure their posture was right whenever they were using their phones.
