It seems that the health condition of Datuk Seri Najib Razak is worsening after spending weeks in prison without proper access to medication.
Just this afternoon (September 12), Utusan reported that Najib’s lawyer told the High Court that the former Prime Minister will need to be referred to Hospital Kajang this evening as his health condition is quite severe. Najib, who appeared at the High Court this morning for his 1MDB trial has asked for his trial this evening to be postponed so that he could seek medical help in the hospital.
In the meantime, his daughter, Yana Najib revealed via an Instagram post that the doctor has recently discovered multiple new stomach ulcers during a scope on Saturday (September 10). Yana reminded the people that it has been a recurring problem for his father since more than 15 years ago.
“During the scope, the doctors at HKL also did a biopsy which led to some bleeding and the ulcer had to be clipped to stop the bleeding,” she said.
It was also said that Najib requested observation at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL), but it was denied. In the meantime, the doctor had also changed the medication that Najib has been taking for years before sending him back to Kajang Prison.
Unfortunately, the new medications are not treating his illness, and in fact, they are believed to be increasing his blood pressure to a dangerous level.
For this, Yana pleads on humanitarian grounds to the High Court, the hospital, and the government to do the right thing.
“Please do the right thing and allow for dad to receive proper medical care and observation.”
Hopefully, Najib will have access to proper medications and observation before his illness becomes more critical. Stay tuned for more updates!
