It’s the end of the year and we wish it simply means Deepavali and Christmas before the new year! Unfortunately, it also marks the monsoon season, which means many people in different places have to brace themselves for the flood.
This year, the flood has proven to be a little different and extreme after a few unexpected places were hit by the disaster, such as a shopping mall in Subang Jaya and the Federal Highway.
In a TikTok post by @azrul.khilmy, aside from having to deal with the consequences of flooding at his house, he suffered damages to his beloved car too. The floodwater managed to “invade” his BMW and in the clip, Azrul is seen patiently scooping out the floodwater from his car.
The alarm of his car also went off, signifying a potential issue and repair that would follow. If part of your car is submerged in floodwater, there’s no way to sugarcoat it – you have to prepare to fork out a big amount money.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Azrul said the area where he stays – Kampung Rinching Hilir in Bangi was affected by flood on November 5 following a heavy downpour. It didn’t take too long for the floodwater to recede but the consequence of the disaster is certainly not easy to deal with.
When asked if the floodwater damaged his car engine, Azrul told WORLD OF BUZZ that he had not tried to start the engine. He didn’t want to inflict more damage. At the time of writing (November 7), Azrul’s BMW640i is still being fixed at the workshop.
“I sent my car to the workshop immediately after I cleared the floodwater from it as much as I could. Let the professionals handle it. I don’t want to damage the sensor by starting the engine,” Azrul explained.
Azrul also said the recent flood was by far the worst flood that has ever hit Bangi. The floodwater submerged almost half of his car, and other residents in the area were also affected.
