Nobody likes to get sick as suffering is torture.

However, this woman in India had locked her son and herself up in their house when the lockdown was imposed 3 years ago.

This peculiar case recently came to light when the woman’s husband went to the Chakkarpur police post and asked for them to rescue the duo.

On 22 February, police, health officials and children’s welfare department staff went to the house for the rescue mission. They broke open the door and took the mother-son pair out. They were rushed to the hospital.

When the officials were at the house, they noticed that the place was a mess as there were piles of garbage, clothes, hair and dirt all over the place.

It is said by NDTV that the 10-year-old boy’s mother cut their hair at home and the garbage at home had not been thrown out for 3 years.

The child painted the walls of the home and studied using pencils only. In those 3 years, the child never saw the light of day.

What was even more surprising is that the neighbours didn’t even know that the mother and son were at home this whole time.

A police official said that after getting to know about Covid-19, the woman was so scared of it that she did not allow her son to go out of the house as she believes that he will die if he took a step out.

Even her husband was not allowed to return home. After the first lockdown had ended, her husband went to his office for the first time and he was not allowed back home anymore.

He could only video call them while he took care of the rent, utility bill and the child’s school fees. During this time, he also bought groceries and left them outside the house for his wife and child.

We hope that the family is doing well now.
