Marriage is a big step in our life as it is a lifetime commitment by both parties. One will need to think thoroughly before deciding to get married. One of the biggest questions to mull is money and the partner’s prospects.
In a video that has gone viral on TikTok with 1.2 million views, a 25-year-old Malaysian businessman, Ammar Izzuddin bin Mustaffa, was dumped by his girlfriend of more than a year, a week before their engagement.

The 16-seconds video started with the man, Ammar, at KLIA taking out a bouquet of flowers to surprise his girlfriend, who had just returned from Egypt.
Later, he received a few messages from her saying that she wanted to stop their relationship.
“I think we should stop our relationship here. I think my mum disapproves of us because she wants my husband to have a government career and earn a lot.”
To that, Ammar replied that he had bought everything for their engagement that was due in a week’s time. However, she replied that it might be God’s fate and that a man working in the government would propose to her in a week.
After Ammar showed her the rings that he bought for her, she blocked him on Whatsapp.
A few netizens shared similar stories.
“Same. My mother wants me to marry a government worker.”
“We are the same, in regards to finding someone who works with the government. My first love did the same thing to me. Her mother disapproved of our relationship. One reason was that I wasn’t working with the government.”
Others were saying that if Ammar (who drives a Mercedes) does not have luck in love, then they wouldn’t as well.
“He has a Mercedes, but he also got rejected.”
“He got rejected even though he drives a Mercedes. What will happen to me who only has a Honda Ex5?”
Some sceptical netizens were asking if this is a marketing strategy by Ammar as he often posts about his job on his TikTok.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ on that, Ammar says if it is for marketing, he can use many other things such as his car or his house to make content.
He added that he was pretty crestfallen with the breakup, but he has come to terms with it.
Like the saying, we believe good things come to those who wait.
