Well, this woman must be carrying some really precious cargo! Most of us who have travelled before would know the experience of putting our bags through an X-ray machine for security purposes. However, this passenger who was at the Dongguan Railway Station in China’s southern Guangdong Province could not bear to let her handbag out of her sight for even one second.

Based on a report by Sina, the woman had actually climbed inside the X-ray machine herself to keep an eye on her handbag as it was scanned by the machine. OMG! She looks like she was making her way back to her hometown and was just passing through the security scanners at the railway station to catch her train on February 11 in the evening.

The unidentified woman had put her suitcases through the machine happily but clutched her handbag tightly throughout the procedure. However, the security staff informed her that they would also need to scan her handbag. Hearing this, she reluctantly turned back to place it on the conveyor belt going into the machine.

Apparently, she did not trust the staff or even the machine for that short time her bags would be scanned and proceeded to venture inside herself. She went down on all fours and squeezed into the machine as the stunned staff were too shocked to react. After going through the security procedures, she rushed off with her luggage.

Photos of the woman being scanned in the machine circulated on Chinese media but it was unclear what were the precious items she had in her bag. It was speculated that it is likely she had stacks of cash in her bag, which would traditionally be given as gifts to relatives during Chinese New Year. Must be a lot of money!

In response to the incident, the Dongguan Railway Station staff advised passengers not to ride the X-ray machine as the amount of radiation given off by the scanners can be harmful to the body.

Don’t worry, those X-ray scanners are only meant to scan your bags to determine that there are no dangerous items inside and not to steal your stuff!
