One of the biggest fears while travelling is that you’d somehow miss your flight and have to fork out more money to get on another one.

Hence, that’s why most people arrive at the airport early so that such a scenario won’t take place.

For illustration purposes

That’s exactly what this Chinese national did for her flight at the Shanghai airport but unfortunately for her, she still missed her flight.

Why? Well, despite being at the airport when her flight was taking off, she missed it simply because she was too distracted on her smartphone while online shopping on Taobao during the recent 11.11 sales!

Going viral on Weibo, a video of the woman dejected on the floor crying has caught the attention of Chinese netizens due to the absurdity of the situation, with many feeling bad for her.

At the start of the video, you can see the woman from afar sitting on the floor sobbing as the person recording was approaching her.

As the video cuts to her up close, we can hear her blaming the ending hours of the 11.11 sales for missing the flight while sobbing.

She added that she had many things she wanted to buy on Taobao during the sale that she didn’t hear the announcement for her flight.

Thankfully, the story had a happy ending as the airport staff were kind enough to help her change her ticket to the next available flight.

Well, let’s hope she learned her lesson on paying attention while at the airport and more importantly, we hope that she managed to check out all the items inside her cart by the end of 11.11! ?
