Who here is guilty of putting the majority of WhatsApp groups on your phone on mute? Well, sometimes this is something that we need to do as leaving those groups is not an option. Currently, we are able to mute those group for a maximum of one year, but honestly, this is not enough as it will slowly creep up on us after the duration is done. Is there a way to just set it and forget it?

Well, this might change soon. Wabetainfo has recently discovered that the popular app has just submitted their latest version to be approved by Google which will bring a few changes to the app. One of the most important changes is that WhatsApp is currently developing the option to let users to always mute notifications from chat groups.

Whatsapp Always Mute Functionality Wabetainfo

This update would definitely be welcomed by all WhatsApp users who are currently being forced to only settle for the one-year option. Another option is to simply leave the group but this is not an ideal option especially when it involves family and workgroups. At the moment, there is no exact timeline in which the update will be released.  But we will definitely use the option as soon as it is made available!
