We often hear about the age-old debate of Thai Durians vs Malaysian Durians and what sets it apart.

It is important to note that as Malaysians, we are used to Durians dropping from trees, whereas Thais are used to being cut directly from the tree.

Here is a video of a harvester braving great heights to harvest Thailand’s infamous Monthong Durian.

In the video, the fruit is cut at the stem and needs some time to ripen.

Netizens commenting on the video commended his bravery in climbing a mature durian tree metres from the ground.

“We can make our coconut trees short, so why not Durian trees?”

“This is the first time I’ve witnessed a man climb up Durian trees,” said a user.

Well, to each their own right? No matter what the country is, so long as the Durian is good, we are sure no one will complain.
