If there’s one thing that makes a person a Malaysian, it’s the habit of parking or stopping our cars at the most inappropriate places.

But, would you still stop your car somewhere if you notice that you’re causing a traffic jam behind you?

The 我们是马来西亚人 We are Malaysians Facebook page shared a video showcasing a Perodua Myvi (also known as the king of the road in Malaysia) driver stopping their car in the middle of the road, with their signal on, to wait for someone. The driver stayed at the spot despite a Rapid KL bus honking at them and a long line of cars forming behind as they blocked the road.

In the video, the Myvi driver could be seen stopped in the middle of a road in Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur, at what looks like an LRT station bus stop.

Right behind the Myvi is a Rapid KL bus honking at them to move as they were blocking the road and causing a massive traffic jam.

At one point, a passerby had to confront the Myvi driver, telling them to move their car elsewhere. When the Myvi driver merely moved inches, and was still blocking the road, the passerby had to confront the driver again.

In the end, the bus and the line of cars were forced to go around the Myvi.

Netizens have since taken to social media to condemn the Myvi driver

“This is the kind of people who have driving licenses but don’t know road rules.”

Myvi 3 1

“That’s why our roads in Malaysia are always jammed, because of drivers who prioritise themselves and stop their cars at places that are not suitable.”
