Running a red light is illegal and can cause fatal accidents that put the lives of others at risk. But motorists in Malaysia still think it wouldn’t hurt anyone to run a red light until it does.
In a video posted on Facebook, a dashcam recording shows a motorcyclist being flung off his motorcycle after a car that ran a red light collided with it.
The incident is believed to have happened on 20 September according to Info Roadblock JPJ/POLIS at the intersection of Kg Pengadang Baru, Kuala Terengganu.
In the video, a motorcyclist is seen approaching the intersection when a car makes a turn and rams into the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist is immediately thrown into the air from the impact while the car continues driving.
When the car was making the turn, the motorcyclist had the right of way as the traffic light on that road was green. However, the car did not have the right of way to make that turn as the traffic light on that road was red.
Running a red light is dangerous and you should never do it under any circumstance. It’s better to be a little late than to lose your life or cause injury to others.
