On the last day of 2019, while everyone else was counting down to the arrival of the new decade, this lovely couple were about to begin a new chapter of their lives together.
Just as the ceremony was seemingly going smoothly, the groom suddenly let loose his emotions, turned around and proceeded to pick up a champagne glass before throwing it into the tower of glasses, followed by a second throw.
He continued throwing his tantrum by kicking the tower of champagne glasses off the table! The clip ends with the bride hugging him to cool down his temper. The guests were taken by surprise by the ‘show’.

Netizens were enraged at first by saying that the groom was disrespectful to the bride’s parents, the ceremony and the guests. But most of them changed their minds once they discovered the truth behind his unusual behaviour.
According to Sin Chew, the groom was angered by his own father for shaming both the bride and her father in front of the guests.

After the incident, the groom explained to the public that his father disagreed to their marriage because the bride has a poor family background. But the wedding managed to go on after they went through many twists and turns.
The groom explained that he did not expect his father to publicly shame the bride’s father by sarcastically saying “You’ve taught your daughter well,” implicating that the groom has fallen for some kind of black magic cast by the bride.
Unable to retaliate to his father’s remark, he vented on the tower of glasses instead, and the wedding ceremony was stopped.

He also confessed that he knew what he did was wrong, but he still thinks that his father shouldn’t have publicly shamed his bride and her family in their wedding ceremony.
Despite the unexpected let down, the groom actually loves the bride very much as he is willing to accept her even if she is from a poor family background. Let’s hope the couple will have brighter days ahead.
