The AFC Asian Cup is taking place now, and this year was very special as Malaysia qualified for the AFC Asian Cup Finals on merit after 42 long years.

Unfortunately, Harimau Malaya had to make an early exit after suffering 2 losses in a row against both Jordan and Bahrain.

For our third and final match, the team put up a good match against South Korea, ranked 23rd in the world, and came out with a 3-3 draw!

This was huge news, and many Malaysians are proud to see that our football team is on par with the South Korean team.

As they were officially out of the tournament, the team had returned home and was welcomed with a round of warm cheers right at the arrival hall.

In the video posted by ERA on X (formerly known as Twitter), we can see the players sporting the iconic yellow hoodie making their way towards the arrival hall with police escorts at the side.

Once the crowd saw them, they erupted into a cheer and eventually into a song.

We’re sure the players were happy they received such a warm welcome home “party.” You can watch the video here.

With the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers coming soon, we hope this gives the team the energy to push forward and make our nation proud!
