Accidents do happen. For parents, anything around the house can potentially endanger their child and no matter how hard they try to be careful, the risk will always be there. Sometimes, even toys can inflict injury.

An incident had gone viral on 28 July after a baby had to be rushed to the hospital after his head was stabbed by a part of his toy truck. Sue Mohamad, the aunty of the unlucky baby shared that the boy accidentally fell and rolled on the metal rod holding the tire of the truck which caused it to penetrate through the boy’s head.

The boy was sent to be scanned to ensure the metal rod did not damage any vital organs before they attempt to remove it. Fortunately for the boy, the metal rod can be removed safely and he only needed a couple of stitches. The aunty also shared that after the surgery, the boy has been active and interacts positively towards the people around him. After a few days of supervision, he was allowed to discharge from the hospital.

Toys these days do come with a warning. However, as mentioned earlier, no matter how hard we try, accidents do happen. But we can still reduce its risk by ensuring a safer environment at home is created. Hopefully, this incident will be taken as an example by other parents to always check on the toys that are lying around their children.
