Access to clean water seems like a privilege when that’s not supposed to be the case. The dirty water issue is not something new in Kelantan, and a resident in the state recently shared what it is like to have dirty water flowing out of your tap.
Not the first time THIS month
In her Facebook post, Noriah said that it is not her first time seeing “coffee” flowing out of her tap in the kitchen.
“I pay my water bills every month. Is this the quality I get? I can’t imagine my clothes in the washing machine.”

Her Facebook post, which was uploaded on March 21 went viral on social media, and it didn’t take long for the authorities to contact her for more information. Noriah, who is from Pasir Mas, Kelantan said that she was contacted by the National Water Service Commission (SPAN) the next morning, and within an hour, the officers from Air Kelantan Sdn Bhd (AKSB) reached her place.
During their visit, the water in Noriah’s house was still murky.
“There was a repair for a damage recently. We changed the valve at the water plant. That’s probably why the water is still murky,” 1 of the AKSB’s officers told Noriah.
On the 3rd day (March 23), the condition of the water improved, despite still being murky like tea, as described by Noriah. From coffee to tea, was this a sign of an improvement? Not really.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Noriah said that when reporters from RTM visited her house on March 24, the water was still murky. Noriah said that she informed the AKSB officers that everything should’ve been checked after the maintenance at the water plant before giving water access to residents.
“Coffee water isn’t something residents should receive on their end.”
Noriah also told WORLD OF BUZZ that officers from AKSB contacted her 4 times on the same day of their visit to follow up and check if the water condition has improved. In response to that, Noriah sent them a video of murky water flowing out of her tap which you can watch below.
“That was the last time they checked in with me,” Noriah added.
Unfortunately, the murky water ruined one of Noriah’s white shirts, and she blamed herself for not checking the water in the washing machine prior to doing her laundry, which took place 5 days after her initial video (March 26).
As shown in the image above, the white shirt has an obvious stain. As of today, the water in her house is still murky.
Kelantanese friends, are you experiencing the same at your house?
