A report by Astro Awani revealed that the construction of the new bus terminal in Kota Bharu Sentral, Kelantan is expected to be done by late 2025. The new bus terminal will replace the current and temporary bus terminal at the same place – Lembah Sireh Bus Terminal.
The Facebook page 大马资讯台 recently shared a comparison image of the bus terminal between 1980 and 2023, and the differences may surprise you.
The bus terminal in 1980 shows the building with doors and windows, and it looked like a place where visitors could wait comfortably and safely. However, the recent image of the bus terminal in 2023 shows an entirely different-looking bus terminal, despite being at the same location.
The open-air bus terminal in 2023 is a huge difference compared to how it looked back in 1980, as shown in the image above. Despite how it looks today, the temporary bus terminal is still fully operational and many passengers are still relying on the terminal to get them to their respective destinations.
What do the visitors think?
At the time of writing, Google reviews show a rating of 3.7 stars for the bus terminal, with mixed receptions from the visitors who have been to the terminal. Some visitors expressed why they’re not a fan of the terminal.
“Failed. This place didn’t even have water and power supply during Raya, when there were many people at the terminal to head back to their hometowns.”
“Smelly toilet, uncomfortable, and no water supply in the surau. No facilities and the station is cramped.”
“I needed to use the washroom at 3 am, but it was closed. They didn’t even have proper facilities for the public.”
“It looks like the bus terminal in the 60’s”
On the other hand, several other visitors who have been at the bus terminal showed that they were happy with the place and the services provided, and the terminal has received praise from these happy visitors.
According to Berita Harian, despite being a busy bus terminal, many visitors have expressed dissatisfaction towards the place, with many of them complaining about the lack of a proper waiting area, the lack of air-conditioners, as well as the absence of ATM machines when visitors had to withdraw cash.
Kelantan folks or anyone who has dropped by the terminal, what do you think of the place? Do you think the place could’ve been better, or is the terminal good enough to wait for the bus?
