The viral man who went to prison for smacking a lady driver’s head and slapping a waiter at a restaurant in Cameron Highland has completed his prison sentence. The man, Zaim Faiz Tarmizi recently broke the silence about the matter and the first thing he said to the public was an apology.
“I apologise to all Malaysians for my behaviour where I smacked a lady driver’s head at Cameron Highland.”
In an apology video shared on Tiktok, Zaim also took the opportunity to explain what really happened on the fateful day itself, from A to Z.
Zaim was on the way back to Shah Alam from Cameron Highland during the weekend, and the traffic was expectedly hectic. When he was at the sharp turn, a car from the opposite direction came toward him but before any collision could happen, the car managed to stop. Zaim had no choice too but to stop his car, despite his worry about the impact it would have given to his pregnant wife and kid in the back seat.
The car that came from the opposite direction was trying to avoid the Myvi behind Zaim, which the lady driver was driving, attempting to cut the queue.
Zaim admitted to immediately losing his cool on the spot and he gestured a middle finger out of the window. After making sure his family was okay, he descended from his car and approached the lady driver.
“Whenever I try to talk, she’ll talk back at me.”
He then went back to his car but something else made him go back to the lady driver.
“When I walked back to my car, she talked back at me again. I went back to her car and smacked her head.”
“I reflected a lot when I was in prison”
Zaim insisted that he was worried about his family in the back seat and given the nature of the incident, he was shocked and angry at the same time. He refused to share his life details in the prison but he said he had reflected a lot when he was behind bars.
“I got a lot of guidance from other inmates too.”
Zaim’s wife, who is seated beside him in the video also explained how shocking the experience was for everyone. Near the end of the video, he once again apologised to the lady driver and said that he had no intention of harming her. You can watch the full clip below.
