A video of an ambulance and another Health Ministry vehicles having to give way for a Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) escort convoy of VIPs at an intersection has recently gone viral on social media with many questioning the misplaced priority. Tweeted by Malaysian Twitter user @syzwnrose with the caption ‘Lives can wait, VIP gets to use the road first #maluapabossku’, the 29-second video recording has garnered more than 17,400 retweets as well as over 10,000 likes as of the time of writing.

In the video, a PDRM escort can be seen halting traffic at an intersection to give way for several vehicles carrying VIPs to an unspecified location. The vehicles being escorted include a Proton Perdana and several Toyota Vellfire, the latter of which has replaced the former in becoming the official vehicle for Ministers in Malaysia earlier this year.

You can watch the whole video here:

It is unsure when and where this video was recorded, although many claimed that the video was recorded recently with the VIP escort rushing to cater to victims of the severe floods affecting our country.

Regardless of the timing though, shouldn’t the ambulance be prioritised first since it may be responding to an emergency? What do you guys think? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
