Ah, young love. The times when you’d believe that you and your beau at 15 are endgame and will stay together forever.

A lot of people can look back to their high school romances and just have a good laugh over how childish and foolish you were. The secret phone calls, note passing and basically the whole school teasing you. The best part about these immature romances is that you don’t actually carry it into your adulthood, well except for this teenager from Vietnam.

YAN News reported that a 16-year-old couple, who’ve been only been recently dating but made the bold proclamation that their love is eternal and they’ll stay together for a lifetime. As a declaration of their undying love, the boy insisted on getting his girlfriend’s name and the date they got together tattoed on his arm.

The tattoo artist tried to dissuade him but to no avail, as the boy was madly in love and the tattoo was to represent the agreement he and his girlfriend had.

Unfortunately, as luck would have it, the boy returned a week later heartbroken to the tattoo artist as he and his girlfriend had broken up! He wanted to remove his tattoo which was reportedly quite large and wasn’t cheap to remove. Not only was it expensive, it was physically painful as well adding to the emotional pain he was already feeling.

Netizens in the comment section had a field day with the boy’s situation saying that the boy “has not experienced life” and even “this what young people do”.

In case you forgot, tattoos are PERMANENT! At the end of the day, it’s more recommended to get a tattoo of your pet compared to your lover, at least with your pet, you know the love is eternal and unconditional.
