The Olympics have been a topic of discussion lately even though they haven’t started yet. Malaysia’s official Olympic attire has already been making headlines for being a letdown. And just last night, Malaysians went crazy after Paralympic Council Malaysia revealed the new official attire for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Amidst all of this, Minister of Youth and Sports Hannah Yeoh has expressed her opinion on Malaysia’s goal to aim for one gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

She said the target is more realistic

Hannah Yeoh mentioned in an interview that achieving the target seems more realistic through track cycling and badminton, based on a video shared by @FadhirulS.

With Malaysia still aiming for its first Olympic gold medal, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games offer a prime opportunity for Malaysian athletes to make that dream a reality.

“The target this time around should be a gold medal”

Hannah Yeoh continued to explain how she has mentioned multiple times that the target for the Olympic Games this time is a gold medal, that has been the target since the establishment of the Road To Gold Committee (RTG).

She revealed how the RTG committee focuses on preparing athletes for 2 upcoming Olympic Games: Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028.

“We’re currently gearing up to support fast-track athletes in squash and diving, getting them ready not just for Paris but also laying the groundwork for Los Angeles,” she added.
