Man Goes on Rampage at Sg Buloh MRT Station by Chasing Commuters While Brandishing a Pair of Scissors

Panic broke out at the Sungai Buloh Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on July 6 (Sunday) when a man went on a rampage and began chasing members of the public.

Sungai Buloh District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd. Hafiz Muhammad Nor said they received a report about the incident at 12:32 AM from a Prasarana auxiliary police officer who was on duty at the scene.

The suspect was armed with a pair of scissors

Police have since arrested the suspect in connection with the incident, as reported by Kosmo!.

According to Hafiz, a woman lodged a report stating that her father had been chased by an unknown man beneath the station at around 11:15 PM.

Guided by the woman, an auxiliary police officer and his colleague rushed to the scene, where they found the suspect on the stairs behaving erratically.

“The suspect was brandishing a pair of scissors and had chased members of the public at the station,” he said.

The suspect is remanded for 3 days

Following the incident, Mohd. Hafiz said police have opened an investigation under Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958.

He added that the suspect has been remanded for three days until July 9 (Wednesday) to assist with the investigation.

He also urged anyone with information to come forward by contacting the Sungai Buloh Police Station at 03-6156 1222 or Investigating Officer Inspector Azraai Mohamad Amin at 018-969 6941.
