This reusable fabric face mask is selling like hot cakes in Japan! Hopefully, Uniqlo will bring them into the Malaysian market soon.
Last June, popular Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo released a fabric face mask utilizing their innovative ‘AIRism’ technology in Japan and the reception was incredibly overwhelming. So much so, that there were super long queus outside Uniqlo in Japan and their website even crashed, as reported by The Star!
Woah, that must be some amazing face mask.
Well, frankly speaking, it is! According to Japantoday, Uniqlo developed the face mask based on feedback from its loyal customers who are looking for a reusable, comfortable face mask that provides daily protection during this scathing pandemic.
Uniqlo’s AIRism technology fits perfectly with that request. Hence, it paves the way for the creation of the AIRism Face Mask which have these awesome features:
- It employs a triple-layer structure.
- A high-performance filter sits between the outer mesh fabric and the AIRism layer.
- This filter delivers a bacterial filtration efficiency of 99%, blocking droplets, bacteria, virus-contaminated particles, and pollen.
- The outer mesh fabric has a UPF 40 rating, meaning it cuts 90% of ultraviolet rays.
- It is machine washable with regular household degergent.
- The triple-layer structure retains its efficacy after 20 washes
Wah, no wonder it’s sold out everywhere in Japan!
With the success it showed in the land of the rising sun, Uniqlo is now bringing the AIRism face mask to the global market. In fact, our neighbours Singapore will be getting it in stores this 24 August as reported by Yahoo News Singapore.
It will be available to our brothers and sisters across the Causeway in a choice of black and white, and 3 sizes:
- S (For children): 18cm x 12cm
- M (For small adult faces): 22cm x 14cm
- L (For regular adults): 23cm x 14.5cm
Priced at SGD14.90 (approximately RM46), Uniqlo has set a purchase limit of one pack per person for every size and colour there.
WORLD OF BUZZ has contacted Uniqlo Malaysia to enquire whether the AIRism face mask will be brought over to our shores but we have yet to get a reply as of the time of writing. Accordingly, we will update this article once we received news from them.
