Uni Student in Sarawak Allegedly Commits Suicide Due to Stress from Studies
A Chinese female university student from Sibu, Sarawak allegedly committed suicide due to academic pressure.
According to Sinchew, the deceased Mo Zhi Zhi, was a 23 year-old student from the University of Science Malaysia(USM). This year is supposed to be the last year of her academic study.
The police received her family’s report at around 7am yesterday morning (9 January 2021). According to Mo’s parents, Mo committed suicide due to academic stress.
With the global pandemic going on and all the new norms to adapt, many students, especially university students are facing unprecedented stress. Nevertheless, suicide is never the answer.
