Sometimes, we don’t truly appreciate what we have in our own country until we go overseas and experience other cultures.

Case in point, a man from the United Kingdom recently heaped praises on the Kuala Lumpur public transport system and compared it to the one in England’s capital city of London.

Specifically, the man, @justrolliwithme took to TikTok to praise the monorail network in Kuala Lumpur, a form of public transport not available in London.

As of the time of writing, the video has gone viral with over 1.3 million views and more than 72,600 likes on TikTok.

Standing in front of the elevated monorail track in Kuala Lumpur as a monorail passes by, @justrolliwithme said that he is perplexed as to why a country such as the United Kingdom and a city like London can’t invest in a monorail system, despite being 1 of the richest in Europe.

He then took a swipe at London Mayor Sadiq Khan and urged him to spend money in the right way for the city.

Malaysians respond to the man’s frustrations at the lack of a monorail system in London

In the comments section, Malaysians flocked to reply to @justrolliwithme‘s frustrations and gave their 2 cents on the matter.

One commenter said that Malaysians don’t really want the monorail and would prefer colder weather instead in Kuala Lumpur.

Meanwhile, another Malaysian sarcastically said that Melaka also has a monorail system, with the joke being that the monorail system there had a lukewarm response from the public and hasn’t been operational since 2020.

Besides that, one commenter was proud of the UK man’s praise of the monorail system, saying that even Londoners are impressed by Malaysia’s development.

A few commenters also noted that London doesn’t need a monorail system as they already have an underground metro as their main public transportation.
