We often hear police officers abusing their power and it isn’t exactly something new, but sometimes it just goes too far.

A couple in their 20s was allegedly extorted of money, raped and forced to have sex while being recorded by two police officers just last Friday, as reported by Berita Harian. The incident took place at 10:45pm near Pengkalan Chepa when the police officers came across the couple in their car by the roadside.

Kelantan Police Chief, Deputy Commissioner Shafien Mamat, explained that the police officers had punched the victim before demanding he pays them RM1,200 to avoid them reporting the issue to the religious authorities.

“After obtaining the money from an automatic teller machine (ATM) nearby, the policemen were also accused of ordering the couple to have sex in the victim’s vehicle while the activity was recorded using their mobile phone.”

“The woman victim also claimed that she was forced to have oral sex and was raped by one of the policemen when her lover when to take money from the ATM,” he said.

The two police officers have been detained and are being interrogated about this case after the couple submitted a police report two days after the incident. Both victims are also currently being medically examined at the hospital.

“Based on the police report made by the victim, we take into account all allegations and a thorough investigation will be carried out. If it is true that our members are involved in criminal activities, we will take appropriate action.”

This case is currently being investigated under Sections 377c, 354 and 384 of the Penal Code.
