Just recently, a Tiktok user, Victoria, has shared her experience being in Malaysia.

In her video, she mentions that the ATM was rejecting her and her boyfriend’s card and they were unable to withdraw any cash.

As a tourist, this is frankly one of the scariest things to experience because you’re in a foreign land and you may not even receive help from locals.

Fortunately, a kind Malaysian offered to drive them around town to different banks and even bought them lunch before sending them back to the bus station to catch their trip to Kota Kinabalu!

In an exclusive interview with WORLD OF BUZZ, Victoria mentioned to us that she’s from Eastern Europe, Belarus and is currently travelling the world with her boyfriend.

When asked about her trip in Malaysia, she said:

“It’s actually our third time in Malaysia, we came to Malaysia once before the pandemic hit, but we didn’t get to explore the country.”

“We were in Tawau when the ATM incident happened and now we’re in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.”

“This ATM incident isn’t the first time that Malaysians helped us. When we first arrived here, our hotel that we booked via a third party website turned out to be a scam.”

“Our Grab driver (now our friend), Sophien, helped us call all the hotels around town, gave us a ride around  and found a place for us to sleep. He even refused to take our money!”

“We were able to witness Hari Raya and the people from the mosque nearby invited us to celebrate with them. They even helped us to buy outfits and shared some food with us!”

Victoria has mentioned to us that they’ve been in Malaysia for 2 months and they have to head back soon.

When asked what she’ll miss the most about Malaysia, she said:

“A little bit of everything! Malaysia has so many undiscovered places and natural resources, from Jungles in Sabah to beautiful rivers and palm plantations in Kelantan.”

“If you get tired of nature, you still have a concrete jungle in Kuala Lumpur with beautiful skyscrapers and fast paced urban life!”

We’re so glad that they were able to enjoy their trip here in Malaysia and fellow Malaysians, thank you for showing kindness.
