Tony Fernandes Postpones Retirement & Will Continue Serving as CEO for Another 5 Years!

Under Tony Fernandes’ leadership, AirAsia turned a dream into reality, transforming the travel landscape in Asia. AirAsia is even considered one of the safest low-cost options out there, all thanks to his vision and leadership!

In recent news, Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A Berhad, has postponed his retirement and just signed on for another 5 years! He’s all in for driving the group’s growth and making sure the finances stay on point.

“We will reach even greater milestones, under Tony’s leadership”

According to announcement made by Captial A Berhad, Capital A’s Board of Directors has given the thumbs up to an incentive package designed for Tony, aiming to align the CEO’s goals with those of the shareholders.

Independent Non-Executive Director of Capital A Berhad, Dato Fam Lee highlighted Tony’s exceptional talent in successfully transforming Capital A to drive growth and deliver financial returns. This achievement has earned Tony a reputation as one of the world’s remarkable CEOs.

New realms of success

Tony is all in on delivering major value to shareholders after selling off the aviation business. In the next 2 years, investors and shareholders will witness 4 strong new businesses sprout from the AirAsia Group.

He added,

“I’m thrilled about these businesses, each is set to become its own independent entity with a solid capital foundation. Over the next 5 years, my vision is to see Teleport, MOVE Digital, Capital A Aviation Services Group (CAPAS), and Capital A International evolve into publicly listed companies.”

He has no plans to slow down now!

Tony has led Capital A and the broader AirAsia Group with vision, driving them to embrace disruption, innovation, and strategic acquisitions to achieve new levels of success.

“Tony has steered Capital A onto the correct strategic trajectory for continuous value enhancement, and the Board has concluded that extending his tenure for the next 5 years is in the shareholders’ best interests,” said Dato Fam Lee Ee.
