A truly Malaysian cow, the story of how she enjoys her meals was highlighted in Berita Harian.

Her owner Abdul Mutalib Chin explained that Tam had frequented his home every afternoon to enjoy 2-4  pieces of roti canai for over a year.

According to Berita Harian, the roti canai connoisseur acquired her taste when she entered his home and began munching on biscuits placed on the dining table.

“At the time we were unaware that she was inside the house. I noticed that all the biscuits were finished. Ever since then she would visit every afternoon, and I will feed her with biscuits and roti canai. After finishing her meal, she enjoys kopi ‘o’ or tea in a big bowl.”

Abdul Mutalib or better known as Pakcik Lid says that he cares for Tam as if she was his own daughter.

Likening Tam to Ferdinand the Bull, he explains fondly of Tam’s near-human feelings such as wanting attention from him.

“If I call her, she will come. She’ll even call out if she is hungry or stays out in the sun for too long.”

“If I don’t visit her at the back of the house on time, she will come and call me.”

Pakcik Lid also explains that Tam has a fear of cats.

“The affection that Tam has is extraordinary. I don’t have the heart to tie her up or turn her into a meal.”

Perhaps it’s time that Malaysians broaden their choices of animals to be made as pets. But maybe not crocodiles, OK?
